CAN Configurations for 3rd Party Hardware

Here are 3rd party DBC files, sorted by Manufacturer.

In cases where the DBC source is listed as "AEM created file based on MFG supplied CAN documentation, not tested on hardware by AEM", these files were created by AEM, based on the mfg's published CAN spec sheet but we do not have a reference hardware in house to validate the file with. In these cases AEM only states that they do appear to import properly into AEM DashDesign and that a reasonable attempt was made to adhere to the mfg's published spec. They are posted here as refrence files only and without any warranty whatsoever. It is up to the user to confirm that every channel they use is reading properly.

In cases where a file is listed as "AEM created file based on MFG supplied CAN data, Has been tested on actual hardware", this testing consists only of the confirmation of data being received without transmission errors and the formats appearing to be correct. In many cases it is impossible to confirm what the host device is actually sending, only that we are receiving clear data on those channels.

In cases where a file is listed as "XXX published file", these are DBC files that are already published by the devices manufacturer. Note, we have no knowledge regarding 3rd party mfg testing of their own files and list them simply for your convience.

In many cases the channel names have been modified to the universal names used by the CD-7. This is done to have as many channels "just work" as possible. If this were not done and if a DBC had a unique name for a very common channel then that channel would need to be manually mapped by the end user. When choosing common names for channels every effort is made to make them easily understandable and obvious. In most cases the changes are limited to removing spaces, underscores etc...

I have Pectel on the list but I had not yet detailed which ECU's would be supported. Just have to devote a little bit of time to sort it all out. John

Since the CAN bus is fully

Since the CAN bus is fully programmable it can be made to work with the GM LAN. However, I dont currently have the definition for that network and while I have seen it scattered around the web I have not made ca concerted effort to track it down and codify it into a DBC file. There are lots of forums that do specifically work with GM LAN and they would be a good place to start. If you know what is on the bus, you are fully enabled to make the CD-7 recognize it.
