AEM Changes Names of Infinity ECUs for Easier Identification by Model Type

October 29th, 2015, Hawthorne, CA - AEM has renamed its existing Infinity ECUs to accommodate the current and future expansion of its Infinity Programmable ECU model lines. Part numbers for existing Infinity ECUs will remain the same. "The success of the Infinity ECU program has created opportunities in multiple forms of Motorsports, which have subsequently allowed us to develop new Infinity models beyond our existing offerings," commented AEM President Greg Neuwirth. "Going forward we realized that our current naming system was not appropriate for this rapid model expansion, so we developed new model classifications under which all current and future Infinity ECUs will be categorized. This change serves to allow for both future Infinity model expansion and to eliminate confusion once the naming system is adopted by everyone."

INFINITY SERIES 7 ECUS-Formerly Infinity-8/10/812
The Infinity Series 7 ECUs are made up of the formerly named Infinity-8, Infinity-10 and Infinity-812. Series 7 Infinity ECUs are characterized by dual connectors totaling 129 pins for engines that require sophisticated electronics to control features like variable cam timing and drive-by-wire, and require the maximum amount of inputs/outputs. Four-cam variable cam timing control, dual DBW, four-wheel-speed traction control and dual on-board Lambda controllers are included, and up to 64GB logging capability is standard (100 channels up to 1,000Hz/channel).

NEW Infinity Name OLD Infinity Name Part Number (Remains Same)
Infinity 708 Infinity-8 30-7101/7109/7110
Infinity 710 Infinity-10 30-7100/7105/7107
Infinity 712 Infinity-812 30-7111

INFINITY SERIES 5 ECUS-Formerly Infinity-6/8h
The Infinity Series 5 ECUs are made up of the formerly named Infinity-6 and Infinity-8h. Series 5 Infinity ECUs are characterized by a single, 80-pin connector, with either 6 ignition coil outputs and 6 low impedance injector drivers (Infinity 506), or 8 ignition coil outputs and 8 saturated injector drivers (Infinity 508). Infinity Series 5 ECUs are designed for high performance, late model vehicles, late model crate engines and late model Powersports vehicles that employ sophisticated electronics like variable cam timing and drive-by-wire but do not need the maximum amount of inputs/outputs. Two-cam variable cam timing control, one DBW, two-wheel-speed traction control and one on-board Lambda controller are included, and up to 64GB logging capability is standard (100 channels up to 1,000Hz/channel).

Infinity 506 Infinity-6 30-7106
Infinity 508 Infinity-8h 30-7108

INFINITY SERIES 3 ECUS-Coming Soon
The new Infinity Series 3 features a single, 73-pin connector and is ideal for basic crate engines and marine applications, as well for as upgrading engines currently using MEFI based systems. More information will be available upon official release of the initial model.

The Infinity ECU makes state-of-the-art ECU technology affordable for both professional teams and amateur racers. Built around a latest-generation 32 bit floating point 200MHz automotive processor and Real Time Operating System (RTOS), the Infinity is capable of processing 400 MIPS (millions of instructions per second). To our knowledge, the Infinity ECU currently has the fastest processing speed of any aftermarket Motorsports ECU available. This processing speed combined with a RTOS provides more accurate ignition timing for increased power, more responsiveness to truly custom tailor the driving experience to the driver, allows the Infinity to perform more computational features without a sacrifice in processing performance, and enables tuning of features and sub strategies without affecting other features and sub strategies. It allows you to do more, faster, in a more stable programming environment.
